It all started at a middle school talent show when former guitarist Lily and bassist/lead singer Skylar got together to win a first place prize for their Radkey-inspired cover of the Teen Titans theme song. 

Their punk-rock spirit encouraged their school to invite them to bring some hype to their upcoming 8th grade dance. The two accepted the invitation and were on the search for a drummer, which is when a musical cast mate of Skylar's, Olyssa, reached out; completing the first official lineup of the band.

With influences like Metallica, Green Day, Bikini Kill and Olivia Rodrigo, the three girls began spreading their energetic sound around COMO. After a few small venues had been rocked, Mönsterya began gaining traction.

Unfortunately, this line-up didn't stick due to differing musical goals. In stepped CJ to fill in on the guitar for their bigger festival gigs. Festivals include CCUA's 15th annual Harvest Hootenanny and Ozark Mountain Biscuits & Bar's 2024 Biscuits, Beats & Brews, where they debuted an early rendition of their first original song, Sounds Like Fun.

The fun continues as more original music is created as well as recorded with their new drummer, Tommy.
